Title:
A Novel Control Method for Mitigation of Voltage Dip in Dual Angle Controlled STATCOM under Fault Conditions.

Abstract:
This paper presents a new control method of reducing the dc link voltage oscillations as well as the voltage dip mitigation. The main improvement is the decrease of negative sequence current, dc voltage oscillation under fault condition and mitigation of voltage dip at the point of common coupling when inductive and capacitive load is connected. The proposed control scheme is for adding appropriate oscillation to the conventional angle controller output. The method improves sensitivity as well as reliable when the STATCOM works under fault conditions and when connected to loads.

Abstract:
Using energy in an efficient way is very important factor for saving energy and heat exchanger is good example for it. Energy conservation reduces using energy services, which helps to increase environmental quality. EGR cooler follows energy conservation and helps to increase environmental quality by reducing pollution of NOx and other pollutants exhaust from engines. Present experimental study has been carried out to investigate the performance optimization of STHE present in EGR cooler by providing various change in baffles, parameters and temperature to notice the exhaust gas temperature which will suitable to engine, to perform the combustion process. 3-D models of EGR coolers are experimented by using CFD software and the temperature, velocity and pressure zones of fluids in the EGR coolers are simulated and verified by experiments. The thermodynamic performances of the EGR coolers with different changes are analyzed and compared

Abstract:
Electrical power is the most widely used form of power in the industrialized countries. In Nigeria the epileptic pattern of electricity supply has affected every aspect of our economy and therefore required a strong political will and commitment on the part of Government to tackle. The solution to this problem lies in identifying and harnessing the abundant reserve energy resources available in various locations all over the country. This paper thus dwelt on identifying various sources of reserve energy potentials that abound in Nigeria which when harnessed and deployed appropriately will be sufficient to provide for both immediate and future electric power need of the country. The approach deployed in the study include the review of available statistical data of Nigeria reserve energy resources; identify the scale of its availability, location and the realizable amount of electric power from such reserve.

Abstract:
This paper presents a new control strategy for over head power transmission i.e using HVDC converter station. In this converter station controlling technique are proposed by using voltage-source converters (VSCs).In this converter rectification and inverter side controlling are consider. In this taking firing angle control of converter switching devices and frequency variation. PWM i.e. pulse width modulation technique is proposed to control conflicts on system. This controller presents high stability margin and fast dc-link voltage regulation, where as it can provide frequency support in the ac side during contingencies. DC-link voltage which e as disintegrations of VSCs interfacing distributed and renewable generation units in to ac systems in the presence of conventional SMs. Frequency and voltage amplitude are adjusted by two separate loops. Short-term deviations in the balance lead to frequency variations and a prolonged mismatch results in blackouts. Operators of power transmission systems are charged with the balancing task, matching the power output of all the generators to the load of their electrical grid. . The load balancing task has become much more challenging as increasingly intermittent and variable generators such as wind turbines and solar cells are added to the grid, forcing other producers to adapt their output much more frequently than has been required in the past. Simulation results are provided to validate the controller effectiveness.

Binary Descriptor Approach- Local Difference Binary Approach For Object Recognition

Abstract:
The problem in object recognition is to determine a given set of objects appear in a given image or image sequence. Thus object recognition is a problem of matching models from a database with representations of those models extracted from the image luminance data. The machine recognition provides poor results if pixel differences based approach can be applied for calculation face differences. Large scale memory is important for storing all the patterns which increases space complexity of the algorithm. In this project, a binary descriptor, named local difference binary (LDB) is applied for obtaining the region of interest achieving computational speed and robustness. This approach is done in following three schemes. First, LDB utilizes both average intensity and first-order gradients of grid cells within an input image. Second, LDB employs a multiple gridding strategy to encode the structure at different spatial granularities. Coarse-level grids remove high frequency noise, while fine-level grids can capture detailed local patterns, thus enhancing distinctiveness. Third, LDB selects a set of salient features for minimizing distances between matches while maximizing the mismatch values, optimizing the performance of LDB.
